Today’s blog is all about our fantastic open weekend at Elsham Hall on 12th/13th November 2011
Inspired by all things, vintage, floral and Cath Kidston, with the decoration for this theme.
The stationery was excellently handmade by Danielle Donnelly from Faithful Designs who also enjoyed every minute of designing invitations, table plan, menus, table names and place names.
It was all about the tiny details that made it all come together so well and everyone involved sharing ideas and working together so well .We were excited to say the least!
We wanted it to be unique and playful so hopefully that’s what we achieved, see for yourself and let us know what you think.
Here’s the barn set up as it could be for a ceremony. We had pink and blue alternate sashes, with wooden hanging hearts on the pink chairs. The arch brought out the rustic feel of the venue. The flashing dainty fairy lights gave it a truly magical feel. The Rose petals down the aisle brought the romance to the theme and the pink and blue bunting tied everything together.
These confetti cones in different prints looked very pretty and delicate with dried pink rose petals inside. They come in 3 prints; Blue dotty, Pink dotty and floral multicoloured.
This Exquisite Pink and Blue Bunting was perfect for our theme and we couldn’t resist it. The cream ’Love’ Heart brought the vintage style to the barn.
Now on to the reception, here is the welcome table and table plan. This table plan fitted perfectly with the day. It had a fabric background with cutesy ribbon used to peg table plans and names onto.
Also on the welcome table was the beautiful guest book from faithful designs. The layers of ditzy patterns are gorgeous and the pretty decoupage adds the finishing touch.
Talking of stationery the ‘save the dates’, invitations and menus complete this set of ditzy inspired wedding stationary. Faithful Designs attention to detail ensures perfection is achieved every time!

The table names were all from Cath Kidston fabric names and again along with the place names tied in with the rest of the stationery. The table names were; Chintz, Spray Flowers, Dotty, Provence Rose and Shooting Star.
As you may have noticed we also had wellies as table centerpieces, yes WELLIES! In pretty colours and patterns though of course. They were filled with a country garden style arrangement, very natural and colourful.
We chose different favours on each table; these included; small handmade decorative hearts, floral tissues and sweetie jars with Cath Kidston fabric as a lid. Also the napkins were pink linen with a lush Cath Kidston napkin holder.
On to the cakes! We chose to have a three tier spotty and floral creation with each tier different. This tied in the colours of the theme and also made it unique. Also as cupcakes are the new craze at the moment we had fun ice cream style cupcakes and more with floral icing and a few colourful dots. These are displayed on beautiful cakestands, both by Cath Kidston.
The sweetie table injected a bit of fun to the theme and always goes down well with adults and children alike. We had Dolly Mixtures, Liquorice Allsorts, ‘Just Married’ Rock and ‘Mr and Mrs’ Rock. These choices gave it the traditional sweet shop look and all the colours went well with the pink and blue colour scheme.
The cream dainty bird candelabra and wooden ‘Mr & Mrs’ on the top table add to the vintage feel and sets the Bride & Grooms table as separate.
Here’s the lovely dress provided by Stephanie Kate, The lace and Tulle were simply Beautiful and Chic.
The overall look came together perfectly, incorparating lots of small unique ideas to acheive a style fitting for the venue and that had a sweet and romantic feel.
We didn’t just dress the venue for the theme, we also dressed up ourselves!
